THE REMAINING FUNDS ARE DISTRIBUTED TO ORGANIZATIONS IN THE FOLLOWING CATEGORIES: CONSERVATION and ENVIRONMENT, SCHOOLS and CHILDREN, HEALTH and SOCIAL SERVICES, ARTS and CULTURE, AND GLOBAL POVERTY RELIEF. WE ALSO KEEP A SET-ASIDE FOR EMERGENCY DISASTER RELIEF EFFORTS. 39 GRANTS WERE DISTRIBUTED DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR.

The Area YMCA is nonprofit human service organization dedicated to developing the full potential every individual and family in the communities it serves through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. With approximately 10,000 members, the Area YMCA is one the largest health and human service organizations in Union County, NJ. With commitment to nurturing the potential children promoting healthy living and fostering sense social responsibility, the ensures that every individual has access to the essentials needed to learn, grow and thrive. The organization has proudly served men, women and children all ages, races, religions, sexual orientations and economic circumstances since 1923 in its service area , Cranford, Garwood and Mountainside, NJ. To address food insecurity in Hudson County

Creating a community where ever person lives a healthy, safe and happy life. ISWM enhances the lives of children and families by contributing its time, services and money to donate items such as clothing, furniture, books, toys, food, etc. through fundraising.

ORGANIZATION WAS ESTABLISHED TO HAVE YOUNG PEOPLE UNDERSTAND POVERTY STRICKEN AND UNFORNATE PEOPLE AROUND WORLD BY PROVIDING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, FOOD CLOTHING AND NECESSITIES. ENVENTS INCLUDE FOOD PANTRY, NURSING HOME VISITS, AHRC VISITS, YARD SALE FUND RAISING AND WATER BOTTLE RECYCLING PROGRAM. ALSO INTERACTS AND COOPERATES WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS WITH SIMILAR PURPOSE.

The oversees food pantries in Andes and Roxbury for persons in need food assistance. This outreach provides emergency food assistance to needy food insecure persons and families throughout the area. Funds were used to procure food and to provide oversight and operational expenses for three pantries that are run by volunteers. We also provide religious and devotional material for residents in our area nursing homes. We have also received a one-time grant in 2020 to facilitate assistance to people affected adversely by COvID 19 We used part that grant in 2021 to help transition the Roxbury Food Pantry into a new location when its former home in a church proved unsatisfactory. Another part that grant was used to help move a trailer home for a family who fix it up and make it their home.
